I heard the news that a scene based on my Daredevil vs. Kingpin illustration was recreated in Daredevil Born Again.
Thank you for bringing it to life so wonderfully!
Actually, my fans have been reaching out to me for the past few days via X, Insta, FB and others, but since this kind of fight action is common, I didn't really think they had applied my art.
However, when I saw "A classic comics moment" videos uploaded this morning on Marvel's official YouTube and social media that directly incorporated my cover art, I came to believe it.
This cover is Devil's Reign #1 (1:25 InHyuk Lee Variant) and was released in December 2021.

But this art was created even earlier, on August 7, 2015. It wasn't drawn specifically for the cover art, it was a personal piece I created for my own fun in my spare time while I was busy and exhausted because of a lot of work.
Simply put, it was just fan art drawn for fun.

Actually, I have done 400 pieces of Marvel cover art so far, and among them, there are several artworks that I originally created as my personal works for fun but were later released as actual covers at Marvel's request.
I started working with Marvel in 2012, So of course I was already working on many covers with them in 2015 too, but for some reason, even though I was drawing the same illustrations, I found the drawings I did on my own more fun than the work I did for jobs, such as covers or game art.
I believe that artists truly enjoy themselves and achieve the best results when they are doing what they want to do.
Therefore, I am grateful to Marvel Comics for taking notice of my old personal work and turning it into a cover.
Anyway, I am happy that it has been wonderfully recreated in Daredevil: Born Again!
I know it is already receiving a lot of love and positive reviews. I, too, will not miss out and will enjoy this series to the very end!
